Parent/Guardian Agreement Form
Congratulations on your child’s selection to Magic Basketball Canada. We are proud to welcome you to our community. As a not-for-profit organization, we are committed to providing a positive and structured basketball experience for every athlete. To ensure the success of our program, we ask all parents and guardians to read and agree to the following terms:

  1. Accountability and Behavior
  • We have a Zero Tolerance policy for misconduct toward coaches, staff, players, or officials. This includes verbal or physical abuse, disrespect, or inappropriate conduct
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring both they and their child follow this policy. Violations may result in suspension or removal from the program.
  1. Attendance and Punctuality
  • Players are expected to attend all practices and games on time.
  • Consistent lateness or unexcused absences may result in reduced playing time.
  1. Sideline Coaching and Conduct
  • Our coaches bring knowledge and experience that shape the program and culture.
  • Parents/guardians must not coach, instruct, or interfere from the sidelines during practices or games.
  • Disrespect, negative comments, or undermining the coaches will not be tolerated. Violations may result in removal from the gym and could jeopardize your child’s roster spot.
  • Ignoring this guidance signals a lack of trust and commitment, reflecting poorly on both the family and the program.
  1. Playing Time
  • Playing time is not equal. It is determined by coaches based on effort, performance, development, and consistent attendance at practices.
  • Mistakes may occur during games. Players are expected to learn from them and respond with focus, effort, and accountability.
  • Lack of effort, poor attitude, or missed practices will directly reduce playing time.
  1. Academic Responsibility
  • Athletes are expected to maintain good academic standing.
  • Coaches may withhold playing time if grades drop significantly. School success remains a priority.
  1. Open Communication
  • Concerns should be addressed respectfully and constructively with the appropriate coach or staff member.
  • Feedback is welcome when it supports the development of the athlete and the team.
  1. Outsourced Training
  • If your child seeks training outside of team practices, you must consult with the coaches first.
  • Training should focus on fundamentals and align with the team’s philosophy.
  • Ignoring this guidance shows distrust in your coaches and trainers and may signal a lack of commitment to the program, affecting how your child is viewed within the team.
  1. Payment of Fees
  • Fees must be paid on time. If financial difficulties arise, contact the program immediately to arrange a payment plan.
  • Failure to communicate or keep payments current may result in suspension or permanent removal from the program.
