This season, Magic Basketball Canada is making an exciting shift in how we structure our camps. Instead of grouping athletes strictly by age, we’re introducing a skill-based format designed to give each player the best possible experience and opportunity to grow.
Why We’re Making the Change Not all athletes develop at the same pace. Some players pick up the game quickly, while others need more time to build confidence and comfort with the fundamentals.
By grouping athletes based on their current skill level, we can ensure that each player receives the right level of coaching, challenge, and competition—so no one feels left behind, and no one is held back.
This approach allows our coaches to deliver more focused instruction, promote smarter decision-making, and support long-term development. It also ensures your child is training with athletes at a similar stage, making their camp experience more productive and enjoyable.

Placement Disclaimer
We understand that every child develops at their own pace, and it can be difficult to know exactly where they fit. That’s why, during the first session of camp, our coaching staff will take time to observe and assess each athlete to ensure they’re placed in the group that best supports their growth.
If we feel a different skill group would better suit your child’s current stage of development, we may make an adjustment. This is never a reflection of their potential—it’s simply about giving them the right environment to learn, feel confident, and improve.
We kindly ask all parents to approach registration with honesty and a growth mindset. Our goal is to set every athlete up for success, and proper placement plays a big part in that.
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s development—we’re excited to help them grow both on and off the court.**
