Registration will open early August for the 2026-27 Magic Basketball Club season. Tryouts begin in August 2026.
COMPETITIVE CLUB BASKETBALL
Magic Basketball teams represent the competitive PEG CITY Club league. Athletes train together throughout the season, through October - March, compete in tournaments across Canada and the USA, and develop the skills, character, and habits needed to succeed at higher levels of basketball.
Teams are built for athletes committed to improving their game, competing with intensity, and contributing to a positive team culture.

2025-26 SEASON OVERVIEW
The Magic Basketball season runs from August through March, with tryouts in August, practices starting in September, and competition running through winter and early spring.
Spring 2025
Teams prepare for Travel Tournaments across the Nation.
August 2025
Tryouts take place. Team rosters finalized by end of month.
Sept – March
Regular season practices, tournaments, and league play.
March 2026
Season concludes. Championship tournaments and year-end events.
TEAMS BY AGE GROUP
Magic Basketball offers teams across multiple age divisions for both boys and girls. Athletes compete within their age group, with teams structured to support development and competitive play at the appropriate level.
10U / 11U / 12U
Introductory club experience. Focus on skill development, teamwork, and building confidence through structured practices and local competition.
13U / 15U
Competitive development teams. Athletes refine skills, compete in regional tournaments, and learn to execute team concepts at game speed.
15U / 16U / 17U
Advanced competitive teams. High-level training, showcase tournaments, and preparation for next-level basketball opportunities.
WHAT IT TAKES
Playing for a Magic Basketball team is a commitment. Athletes and families should understand the time, effort, and financial responsibilities involved before registering for tryouts.
Practice Commitment
2 weekly practices. Attendance helps with team cohesion and development.
Tournament Travel
Weekend tournaments throughout the season. Travel to Winnipeg-area and National competitions.
Season Fees
Team fees cover coaching, facility costs, uniforms, and league registration.
Team Accountability
Athletes represent Magic Basketball on and off the court. Effort, attitude, and respect required.
THE TRYOUT PROCESS
Tryouts are held in August before the season begins. Athletes can register online paying the tryout fee, attend scheduled tryout sessions for their age group, and demonstrate their current skill level, basketball IQ, and ability to compete.
Coaching staff evaluates athletes across multiple sessions. Rosters are finalized by the end of August, and selected athletes receive team placement notifications and next steps for the season.
