BEYOND THE GYM

Northern Lights Basketball is our collaborative travel group, built alongside clubs across Western Canada. Together, our athletes, pulled from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia, compete in the MADE Hoops West Winter Circuit, one of the largest and most competitive youth basketball circuits in North America.

MADE Hoops runs multi-session circuits across the western United States, drawing high-level club teams for a season-long chase toward a championship weekend. It's the kind of stage our athletes don't get access to close to home: real competition, real exposure, real basketball.

Beyond the winter circuit, top athletes also have a path into the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) as our spring circuit, carrying the season into the warmer months. First travel dates are as early as early December 2026.

To be clear: this isn't a recruitment pitch for Magic Basketball Canada. Northern Lights Basketball is an open opportunity for any boy or girl looking for a chance to play at a competitive level, regardless of which club they call home. Once all sessions conclude, athletes are expected to return to their regular club activities.

For the culture.

We're doing things differently this year. Magic Basketball Canada is opening a dedicated travel team to compete in select tournaments across the United States and Canada, the kind that offer real exposure to high-level competition, not just another weekend on the local circuit.

Local basketball is good for development, but our athletes have told us it gets stale playing the same teams over and over. They're ready for bigger stages. This program is our answer: a chance to test what they've built against unfamiliar, high-level competition.

We've collaborated with respected clubs like Minnesota Heat and Supreme Hoops out of Calgary, both of whom have shown nothing but guidance and opportunity for our athletes along the way.

We've never measured this program by wins and losses. We measure it by the doors it opens, chances that weren't there for Manitoba kids before.

To be clear: tryouts are open to any boy or girl looking for a shot at this level, not exclusive to current Magic Basketball Canada athletes. Travel can begin as early as February 2027.
